Will my cat eat my eyeballs? You probably came to this article wondering if it was clickbait. Well, I recently read this book written by Caitlin Doughty. I remember looking at it and became very curious about cats and if they will eat my eyeballs. I’m sure they can, but would they?

Before we answer that, I want to preface by explaining who Caitlin Doughty is. Caitlin is a director of a funeral home in California that practices traditional and natural death rituals. She also has a top-rated Youtube channel called Ask a Mortician. Currently, the channel sits at 1.09 million subscribers. Seriously, go check it out.

Anyway, the book — Caitlin asked what she calls “tiny mortals,” meaning children, if they have any questions about death, and she answers them. Her goal is to help people become knowledgeable and comfortable with death because we cannot escape it. It will happen.

You will learn a lot in this hilarious, brilliantly written book. Death can be an uncomfortable topic to talk about, and Caitlin lifts the weight off of your shoulders. I laughed so much reading this book. Death has scared me since I was a kid, and my grandma passed away. I hadn’t thought about death until my cat died, and more so, when I saw grandma in her casket at her funeral.

Some of the questions are: Can we give grandma a Viking funeral? Do conjoined twins die at the same time? Can you donate blood after you die?

I don’t want to give all of the questions away because I do want you to read this book. I quickly gave it a five-star rating. It’s quick, funny, and informative! Plus, there are illustrations!

However, I will answer one question.

Will my cat eat my eyeballs?

Maybe.
